Jayce's entire world has been turned upside down by an accident and a subsequent breakup. When he moves in next to Viktor, he's just trying to recover and figure out what his "new normal" looks like.

You look so pretty when you’re angry.
Shane blinked, his insides pooling inside him, like hot wax inside the end of a candle. He glanced around at Rose and Miles, who were chattering loudly, paying him no mind.
He hadn’t heard from him since he had left, or well, fled, his house that day. Shane had checked the thread between them more than once, just to see if maybe his phone was glitched, that he had sent him a message and it just didn’t make its way through.
Shane’s traitorous heart thumped faster as he tapped on the message, half-hoping it was a mirage, some kind of delusion from one too many blows to the head.
He was always met with the same two messages, the last ones before Shane had run, and everything had settled like a rock sinking into the calm surface of a lake.
Or, Ilya drunk texts Shane.

Ilya was all too glad to assume his Ottawan identity since it brought him closer to Shane and is a simpler pathway to citizenship, but he still loved to complain about slowly becoming a 'boring Canadian' like Shane.
He insists they do at least one ‘exciting’ thing every week although he keeps changing his definition of what counts as ‘exciting enough.’
Sometimes (more often than not, really) it’s something sexual.
Hence the whole ‘Shane wearing a vibrating plug that Ilya controls while at a public function’ thing. AKA the hottest thing to happen in Shane's entire fucking life.

also: technically there is major character death but i didnt tag it because its just a swap and no one else is going to die in the rest of the fic, so gi-hun is the major death but i didnt think it needed the tag because...it happened in the show anyway. same thing goes for the violence, yes there is a bit in the beginning but its stuff that already happened in the show so i didnt think it really applied!
