Tim had been travelling with High King Phantom for months searching the time stream for Bruce.
After everything, Tim knew one thing for certain: Phantom travelled with him because he was bored. So, Tim didn't see any reason to reveal the truth of his secondary gender to the king. It wasn't like the denizens of the Infinite Realms had designations, after all! (If Phantom found out, would he leave? Abandon him like everyone else in Tim's life already had? Tim couldn't risk it. He wouldn't survive it.)
There was just a small problem with that, though: Tim's heat started.
And Phantom noticed.

Kon-El comes back from the dead to find his boyfriend, Tim, has endured the death of most of his friends, been stripped of his mantle, joined the League of Assassins (briefly), lost Bruce to the timestream and brought him back, and come out of this all with a host more obsessive traits. He does not handle this well.
Tim's boyfriend comes back from the dead, and all he wants is to keep him *safe.* But everyone seems to think he's insane for doing this.
Danny just wants to study aerospace engineering someplace he's unlikely to get kidnapped and dissected (again). But when he overhears a certain vigilante nearly in tears while on the phone with some guy who sounds like a dick...well, he can't keep his nose out of it. Combine that with a unfairly hot, extremely sleep-deprived regular at his coffee shop, and Danny is getting way more caught up in Gotham drama than he ever intended.

Bilbo Baggins’ letter was different from all the others Thorin had received at that time.
First, Bilbo actually got his name right. Very little people cared to learn Thorin’s name those days, so most of his packages were sent as “to the blacksmith in the woods”. He used to have a name, a title and a kingdom. And then, after the dragon fire, all was left were ashes, a hunted kingless kingdom and the bitter taste of defeat.
Yet, somehow as if a miracle, there it was: “To Mister Thorin, Blacksmith from Erebor”.

Bilbo Baggins was doing just fine, until that meddlesome wizard showed up at his door and shoved him out of his beloved and peaceful Bag End - and right into the arms of a particular, maddening, (in every sense of that word), dwarf. Who, as if it just couldn't get any worse, happens to be the King Under the Mountain. As Bilbo is tasked with the seemingly overwhelming duty of educating the two young princes of Erebor, he needs to learn how to navigate not only the foreign environment of the Kingdom Under the Mountain, but also the Dwarven royal court and most importantly, his own heart.
All the while, the political intricacies between Erebor and the Iron Hills are growing tense and might thrust the hobbit into a much larger role than anyone would have wished for.

Summary
There’s an old phrase in Gotham: every Bat has a Cat.
Like most things whispered through Gotham’s smog, it’s only mostly untrue. Technically, the only Bat who ever really had a Cat was Batman himself—and even that’s been more of a tug-of-war than a love story. Though, not for lack of effort on Catwoman’s part. She’s tried everything: seduction, threats, borderline kidnapping. At one point, she swore she’d adopt all of Batman’s kids just to spite him. She’s teamed up with the Birds of Prey—where a few of the Bat-daughters moonlight—and once even tried to snatch up little Timothy Drake, back when he was still following the Bats around with a camera. It didn’t last long. Her first Stray had too big of a heart and was far too self sacrificing to not become the Robin Batman needed after Jason Todd's death.
And then there was that… incident with Nightwing. But Gotham doesn’t talk about that. Gotham forgets. Gotham represses.
Still, the saying sticks around, mostly as a joke. A rite of passage, the locals will wink: “Once the birds become Bats, they’ll find their Cat.” Like puberty, but with more rooftop flirting and potential felony charges.
It's all fun and folklore—until it isn’t.

Hence, he became known outside of the palace walls as the kind-hearted concubine Jie Lianyu, yet unloved by the Lord of the City: The one took kind to the outcasts and the lonely.
It answered many of his questions, mainly why Hua Cheng never seemed to be interested in seeing him: It was because Hua Cheng has a beloved. Out there in the world somewhere—a beloved he is tirelessly searching for; The one who fully occupies his heart, leaving no space for Xie Lian.
And that’s… fine.

With the Human-Face Disease running rampant, Xianle fell into poverty. To save his people, Xie Lian was married off to the wealthy yet cruel Lord of Ghost City, Hua Cheng.
But under the name of a distant cousin of Xie, Jie Lianyu.
If only Hua Cheng knew that.

Xie Lian widens his eyes slightly, puzzled by the sudden question. “Why does it matter? Whether it’s a stray on the street or my beloved, it didn’t change the outcome. I still ended up here.”
Hua Cheng’s brow furrowed deeply. The brush in his hand trembled, dragging a dark stroke across the page and destroying the half-formed character he’s been working on. “You must’ve cared for them a hell of a lot—to throw everything away without hesitation. To offer yourself to me so easily.”
He locked eyes with Xie Lian. “But they clearly didn’t care half as much, did they? They let you walk straight into a pit of demons. They let you become mine. What kind of person does that to someone they love?”

Everyone in Ghost City is cursed to lose all memories of Xie Lian. To break the curse, Xie Lian needs Hua Cheng to say "I love you" to him. What better way to get Hua Cheng to fall for him than to offer himself up as a bride?

When that day finally comes, Xie Lian is in a state that Hua Cheng is wholly unprepared to find his once immortal and chaste beloved in. Acceptance comes easily, there is no world where Hua Cheng does not love Xie Lian exactly as he is. Understanding, however, is slow to follow, even as he becomes closer with Xie Lian than he ever dared to imagine possible.

Summary
In the beginning, there was nothing. No light, no sound, perhaps there was no world at all.
The being in the coffin was without form; void. Desolate emptiness, darkness not just simply upon, it was.
The being had long since drifted away into the far recesses of its own mind. What use was there in staying in that nothing world? Could it even be described as a world? As anything? No. All it was was a sea of pain and grief. An amalgamative mass of nothing but agony.
Or: Xie Lian ascends as the god of death while trapped in the coffin. After nearly a century of darkness, suffering, then a realm of escape fabricated from his own mind, he doesn’t know how to cope with the sudden introduction of his past and present reality. However, things begin to look up when he meets a fellow Ghost. One that reminds him of what it’s like to live, and love.
