Pomni has been grieving for the past few months, having almost abstracted with Jax. She now has to deal with the grief of losing him while he is back, in front of her, and none the wiser about how much she knows about him and about how he saw them.
The remaining members try to navigate life with the prospect that they are now here forever, creating barriers between themselves and their outside personalities. Caine tries to figure out how far he can push his new ability of 'raising the dead', still reeling from losing the powers Abel had provided and attempting to quell his own ego while catering to the members as promised.

Jax is de-abstracted and tries to be better (after a while).

Summary
Thrown into a new adventure before anyone has time to recover, Pomni and Jax are forced to work together while their fallout after the gun adventure still lingers heavily between them. Caine's unsolicited attempt to "fix" interpersonal problems only makes things worse, snowballing into something neither was ever prepared for.
What begins as reluctant cooperation slowly gives way to trust, growing feelings and a confrontation with a past that refuses to stay buried.

Jax walked right into someone, having been staring at Pomni for entirely too long. He was lucky it wasn’t a pole. That would’ve been less embarrassing, actually. He heard her snicker.
He pulled away from the stranger with a quick apology, ready to leave the interaction behind.
“Oh, no worries. Have a good day!”
If he was still in the Digital Circus, if he was still Jax, the camera would have zoomed in on his face as his stupid black pupils shrank into pinpricks.
