Summary
Nearly two years have passed without a word from Astarion ever since the defeat of the Absolute. Since then, her companions have all moved on swiftly, while Xuan has tried to build some attempt of a quiet, peaceful life—she gardens, she reads, she doesn't have a tadpole stuck in her head—though it seems that Shadowheart and the others are inclined to call her a depressed recluse. Her attempts of peace begin to fracture when a letter arrives from her ex-lover.

Astarion tries to leave tiefling Mielikki druid Tav so that she isn't trapped in the dark with him, by leaving a note stating that he grew bored of her. She drowns her sorrows for a while until realizing that he must have lied, and tracks him down and makes him tell her the truth, and they reconcile.

On a side street in the Lower East Side, Infernal Iron Tattoo and Waterdeep Floristry face each other. There’s also a deli. It’s not very good.
Tav has scrapped her way through her twenties to finally have a life she can be proud of: she co-owns her own tattoo studio with her best friend, she wears what she wants and does what she wants, and she even has enough money to get good coffee most of the time.
Is she happy? Yes.
Does the very existence she’s worked so hard to earn make her completely incompatible with the beautiful, buttoned-up florist across the street? Also yes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make her want him any less.

Gale is a research librarian dealing with an unfulfilling job and a wretched break-up. One day his charmingly feral cat Tara gets stuck up a tree, and in a moment of panic he calls the local fire department - much to the annoyance of Aoife, the firefighter on call.
But like two celestial bodies in orbit, Gale and Aoife find themselves indescribably drawn to one another. And when there is a fire in Gale’s library and Aoife comes to his rescue, the spark of interest catches to become a brighter flame.

“Thought ahead, did you?” she teased.
“I always think ahead,” he said, stepping closer. “Come here,” he murmured, guiding her down with him as he took a seat.
Daphne settled between his legs, her back against his chest, his arms wrapping around her. The blanket enveloped them both, but more than that, he did—his warmth, his scent, the steady rise and fall of his breath.
And then—
A single, fast-moving light shot up from the ocean, arcing into the night sky in a dazzling silver streak before bursting into a cascade of glittering stars. The first of many.
Daphne felt Gale’s breath against her ear.
“Are you ready?”
She swallowed, her fingers curling against his sleeve.

It's been 30 years since Xalena and her companions saved Faerun from the Elder Brain. It's also been 30 years since Astarion completed Cazador's ritual and became an Ascendant Vampire. After refusing to become his spawn, Xalena and Astarion part ways. But the hero of Faerun has been captured in a moment of weakness by flesh traders. Before death comes knocking at her door, she gets saved by someone she least expects: Astarion the Governor of Baldur's Gate, and the resident Ascendant Vampire himself. As Xalena recovers from her near-death experience, she notices Astarion isn't quite the bloodthirsty tyrant she assumed he would become. Is it possible that the man she used to love is still there? A dangerous thought for a dangerous man.
Basically, a second-chance romance where Astarion finds a way to experience emotion like his former self but he is still an Ascendant Vampire. Get ready for angst and healing with a happy ending! Using the Tav from my game who is a Half-Drow Druid because I'm self-indulgent :)

Very sweet post-game fic where Xalena (half drow druid Tav) has been wandering around rooting out mindflayer colonies after separating from AA. When she gets captured by flesh traders, Astarion, who is still ascended but with the powers of a mysterious ring now has his old emotions back, rescues her and she sees how different she is. Through a mutual adventure they fall in love again, and in a twist he ends up giving up his ascendant powers to save her soul. Amazing fluff and great smut.

She is a bard, who had a tragic neglectful childhood as a shepherd in Cormyr only to be taken and abused physically and sexually by her patron soon after getting to the Gate for the college of swords. Slow burn romance w Gale, lovely relationship with Morena and Tara, and she eventually gives up her magic for Astarion’s cure.
