    If there's one person more tired of the Dutch national anthem in 2023, it's Max Verstappen, because unlike everyone else, he's heard it hundreds of times. Max is trapped in this endless grey Sunday at Silverstone where nothing ever changes. He races, he wins, he gets to the podium, they play the national anthem, rinse and repeat. It's its own kind of hell.

    Oscar’s definitely not the first driver to have a crush on his teammate, and he definitely won’t be the last, but that truth doesn’t make the reality any less bitter, any less difficult to swallow. Especially when it’s Lando Norris, and especially now that he’s standing across from the man that soured his win, unable to decide whether he wants to punch or kiss the fucking smug look off his face.

    Maybe both.

    Lando runs a large hand through his champagne soaked curls and says, with a note of vitriol in his voice, “Hey there, race winner.”

    Yeah, definitely both.

    After a botched pit stop, a mess of team orders and a lot of drama, Oscar Piastri gets his maiden win in Hungary. After the podium, Lando confronts him, looking for a fight---and Oscar, instead of being the calm, reserved teammate everyone expects, snaps.

    A lot of things change, after that. To Oscar's surprise, nearly all of them are good.

    A couple of years pass before Lando is reminded of the driver again. He has found his way into the paddock; if not the grid itself. He hears nothing about the reserve driver until the summer break. From one day to the next, the Australian rockets from obscurity to infamy. A single tweet puts the name Oscar Piastri on everyone’s lips.
