Summary
It probably shouldn't have taken being stabbed for Faith to realize she fucked up. On that fateful night, after a lifetime of running away and bad decisions, she finally makes the right choice.
But like a cruel, cosmic joke, when Faith makes the right choice, Buffy makes the wrong one.
Now, almost a year and a half later, Buffy is still haunted by how brutally she destroyed Faith that night. Throw in a 'new' sister and a hell god, and her life is just peachy.
When dead demons start showing up on Buffy's doorstep, she can't help but wonder if Faith has come back to town. Only problem is, last time she'd seen Faith, she was sucking up her dust with a vacuum.

Summary
Three and a half years after closing the Hellmouth, Faith is doing good. She’s living in Cleveland, taking care of her dog, and showing a new Slayer the ropes. There’s just one tiny problem. Buffy moved back in five months ago. And now the feelings she’s been (semi) successfully tamping down for years have been dragged straight back to the surface.
Three and a half years after closing the Hellmouth, Buffy finally has a minute to breathe. She’s back in Cleveland, taking college classes during the day, taking turns guarding the Hellmouth at night, and even mentoring a new Slayer on the side. And then there’s the matter of Faith, who she just can’t seem to stop thinking about.
Or: Buffy and Faith are living together. Things between them are better than ever (even though historically the bar has been in hell). Just as things start to shift into something new and terrifying and unknowable, an ancient artifact is stolen, and an angry God comes calling...

Then Jenny, who’s been weirdly quiet since she’s entered the apartment, lays down a newspaper on the coffee table. Buffy’s heart drops twenty meters when she sees the big, bold headline—Rockstar Faith Lehane and Scream Queen Buffy Summers Share PDA-Filled Stroll through LA.
Underneath is a photo, in which a blonde and brunette couple cross the street together. The brunette grins, dimples visible, and has her arm around the other’s shoulder, while the blonde looks up at her with a disgustingly lovesick gaze and smiles so widely and… oh. Oh God.
“They think we’re dating,” Faith says exactly what Buffy’s thinking.
“Well…” Jenny starts. “We think that you should. Date.”
