The Hogyoku knew a person's heart better than the person it belonged to. Perhaps Aizen had wished that things would've been different between them. That someone like Ichigo would have come sooner in his life.
"You could become a Soul Reaper," she told Sousuke.
"No." His response was immediate. "Never. I will never become a Soul Reaper. I hate Soul Reapers. Hate them."
His reaction, unfortunately, didn't surprise her.

Targeted premise: Kenjaku did a little bit more than make Sukuna into a curse and Yuuji into his perfect vessel; they’re bound to one another now, their souls forged into a single, solid piece and carefully cut away from each other. This is how Yuuji actually finds a barely newborn, reincarnated Sukuna, discarded and dying, and steps in, because to walk away is to re-damn the world he fought so hard to save.

But this is not the man who could understand and answer, and Yuuji is only met with sniffled out sounds. He looks down at this child who bears too striking of a resemblance than just those crystalline orbs of inheritance, at the wet cheeks and red nose. Then, slowly, he goes back to the other again. Another familiar face, another mirror. An existing impossibility.
Yuuji closes his eyes.
What happened?
Then, to himself, he chastises.
How did I not notice?
Itadori Yuuji lives on and the world keeps moving but it gets easier to disappear at least. He ends up closing his eyes sometimes to keep the exhaustion of long constancy at bay.
Then, on a cold, cold spring – a child's cry wakes him.
When he searches for the sound, he finds a familiar face.
