This happens at every jousting show. The winning knight claims his prize— the princess’ hand in marriage— sealed with a dramatic kiss. Usually, Matthew is whooping and cheering along with the audience, but this time, he’s silent.
Gunwook towers over Chaewon. He takes her around the waist, smiles a dazzling smile, and dips her down to kiss her. It’s almost painfully romantic. Matthew’s chest seizes. He’s pretty sure Jiwoong is crying about how Matthew is bruising his arm, but Matthew doesn’t care. He just fell in love.
“How do I try out for the role of princess?” he asks dreamily.
