Summary
Leonardo sends CJ back through time to save the world. In a split second decision, as the death-ray charges behind him, he makes the choice to run. Now alone in a dying world, he starts making guides for those who may come after to fight the Krang.
Unbeknownst to him, there's a group on the receiving end of these recorded messages.
(Alternatively: Future Leo survives and begins to vlog the apocalypse to cope with the loneliness. Casey's mask allows the current day Hamato's the ability to view the recordings, and they decide they're going to get this sad old man back if its the last thing they do.)

Summary

“Hold it!”
Ack. A hand catches the back of his shirt. It’s a new one, too, still made of sturdy material, unlike its predecessor, which would have ripped like paper and given him a second chance at taking off. Instead, Barto’s feet swing out in front of him as he’s hoisted off the ground, and no amount of wriggling is enough to get loose from Smoker’s grip. “Hey, c’mon, let me go! I didn’t even do anything!”
“But you will,” insists the dark-haired girl practically vibrating next to the marine. “Sir, that’s Bartolomeo the Cannibal, Captain of the Barto Club!”
“Not yet,” Barto can’t help but complain. He’s been slowly rounding up his friends, and they’re going to steal a ship, and even though they were busy on the other side of town and missed their big chance to set sail with Strawhat Luffy and Red-Haired Shanks that doesn’t mean they can’t still catch up-
Smoker grunts, and raises Barto up a little higher, so they’re eye to eye. “If you promised not to become a pirate, I might just let you go brat. But that ‘yet’ tells me it’d be a waste of time.”
Well.
He’s not wrong.

More seastone chains. Devil Fruit, then. Despite the shredded clothing, Ace can’t see much in the way of injuries; not until the guy warily lifts his head, revealing blood-matted bangs, plus a damaged mask with cracks running through the painted smile and chunks broken off around one eye.
An eye which blinks, when its owner notices Ace staring. “Er. Hi?”
Right. Saying hello. That’s definitely one of the manners lessons Makino gave him years ago. “Hey.” Close enough.
Ace must look just as much of a mess as he feels, though, because the tense lines around that exposed eye soften. “Firefist, right?”
“Yeah.” New guy shifts a little, straightening to lean more of his weight against the wall. It’s enough to expose an embroidered patch on his chest - the Jolly Roger plus what’s left of his mask are enough combined to trigger Ace’s memory. “Burning Heart?”
“Mmhm, that’s me.” First mate on one of the Supernova crews that have been making headlines. Ace remembers somebody joking about similar motives (motifs? Whatever the word is) and the name stuck in his head. Nothing else about the rest of his crew, though, besides something to do with the captain also being a- surgeon? That sounds right.
