If Osten is the petal, then Leonard is the tree. The tree sheds its leaves, but no one really cares about the tree with its plain brown bark. It sits there and stands tall and strong, but its leaves and petals are its real beauty. The tree sits unwavering as people adore the petal, even though it knew the petal since it was a bulb. The tree has seen all stages of the petal. Do they share something special? Of course, but the tree still is rooted firmly in the ground as the petal cascades away.

I wrote this in a month and I don't have a beta reader. I am going to go back through and refine. But if you find something you specifically feel needs more work or you think I should expand upon, I would appreciate the feedback. I write a lot of fanfic for me but this is the first time sharing.

For whatever reason, it’s a sense of deja-vu as he meticulously walks across the wooden floors of his and Carol’s home. The boards crack uncomfortably under his feet as they always have. It’s like he’s been here before, reliving this day.
Taking in her appearance, studying it, he realizes why it’s familiar. Why he remembers the braid being specially draped on her left side, why he remembers she’s wearing a pair of high-waisted, black pants with a dagger hoist strapped to her right thigh.
He had written the description down in the missing persons section of the newspaper. He’d repeat the description to every and any person that was on his run. Or on the walk to the city. Or-
This was the last day he saw her before she went missing.

Chip found life without Carol hard—torturous, even. It hurt and still haunts every part of his being. So when he inevitably found himself in a timeloop, he does everything in his power to keep her at his side. Though, he'd be the first to admit that fate isn't as kind to him as he wishes it would be.
