Summary
Listen, anyone who is aware of Skyrim's existence is probably aware of how absolutely broken it is.
NPCs sometimes just being hostile for no reason, the rubbery mess that sometimes has random debris deal a bajillion damage, and who can forget about the numerous exploits you can do to make yourself GOD.
In most scenarios, the Dovahkiin(you, the player) happily exploits the spaghetti code and the world is forced to watch as they do so...
...So is it so far-fetched that someone else would stumble upon these exploits themselves?
...Naaaah, surely even Skyrim wouldn't allow some random NPC to use these exploits, after all...
It just works!
...right?

Summary
They say the flapping of the wings of a butterfly can be felt on the other side of the world, where one small change could have consequences unseen at the moment.
In this universe, that saying uses a Butterfree instead. In this world, the universe had a bit more of a connection to magic, causing the existence of these Pocket Monsters to happen.
In such minute ways, this world is already different to the one you are familiar with…but you haven’t seen the full picture yet.

Summary
Across space, time, and realities, 4 weapon spirits searched for their champions.
The Shield, as always, found their champion almost instantly, choosing a young man from Earth’s Japan to become their wielder.
The Spear and Bow, as always, did find someone to be their Champion, but had to settle on flawed humans from different Japans.
The final spirit, the Sword, had also initially searched Earth as usual…
…but through its search, stumbled upon Hallownest.
The Cardinal Weapons usually never strayed from Earth when finding their Champions. However, the death of such a powerful entity as The Radiance had drawn in the Sword, who had always looked for Strength among its wielders.
So when it had found a soul, empty and vast as the void but whose strength allowed it to care for Nightmares and wield Dreams…
…The Sword had found their Knight.
