“Your butchery of the English language astounds me.” Damian says, sliding into the seat.
“Second language.” Dick replies. “Can’t be blamed for my mistakes.”
Damian sniffs pretentiously as Dick starts up the car and gets them on the road, the reprimand already on his tongue. “Don’t be foolish, Richard, you have mastered a number of languages and are perfectly capable of speaking them as they were intended to be spoken, as I do. Making excuses as such is undignified.”
Dick hums, amused. “I think there was actually a compliment in there. You’re getting soft, baby bat.”
Damian’s scandalized face is exactly as Dick pictured it. “I am not!”
…Bruce died. Bruce came back to life. The months between those moments don’t stop meaning something even if it would be easier if they did.
It’s up to Dick to reassemble his life and find a way to be a brother to the boy he considers his kid. It shouldn’t be a problem (except that it is) and where the hell is his sweater??

Startled out of his panicked thoughts, Watanuki almost dropped both the umbrella and the bento boxes as he spun around, pressing his back against the wall and looking at his right. The house he was using to keep out of the rain ended abruptly in a corner and there was a concrete wall surrounding the house’s garden, and sitting on top of the wall, like it was the most normal thing in the world, was… an owl.
Watanuki blinked.
