    “I have to go potty,” she whispers, the words so timid and achingly innocent that Peter’s heart clenches. She sounds so small—smaller than she ever has before, even when she’s wrapped herself up in his arms to hide from a thunderstorm or begged him to stay with her until she falls asleep.
