“Can I ask you a question?”
Shadow blinks his eyes and turns to her, glancing behind him like he’s going to be able to see the quills still coated with conditioner. It catches on his urge to avoid. “You trapped me,” he accuses.
Maddie just laughs, smiling at him. “You got me,” she says, raising her hands guiltily. “You don’t have to answer it, though. It’s your choice.”
He narrows his eyes at her suspiciously, searching her face. She just tips her head at him. “What.”
She gestures, and he closes his eyes again, flattening his ears on his head so she can resume washing out his fur. “Why are you so dead set on leaving us?” She hums the question casually, tone straight, like the answer doesn’t matter to her. Like he’s not going to get in trouble for answering. It’s a dangerous tone; It can’t be trusted.
Shadow is quiet for a few seconds, searching for the safest answer. “I don’t belong here,” he eventually settles on.

“You call this living?” the hedgehog says, throwing his hands up, looking around. “A hole in the wall of the sewers, eating junk food, only coming out at night, never talking to anyone? You- There’s no bed in here.”
Shadow bares his teeth for the first time, glaring hard. “What do you want?”
“Come back to Green Hills with me,” the hedgehog says abruptly, flashing a smile.

“I miss my brother,” he hisses into the blanket, grief overtaking his mind. Not rage, though. Not anymore.
“Oh.” The hand on his hair retracts. The one in his hand tries to follow. “I’m sorry.”
Cisco catches his other hand on Barry’s and clutches it tight to his chest; It feels like his anchor. Like his lifeline. He hasn’t realized how lonely he’s been while grieving his brother until now.
Fuck, he misses Dante. He misses his voice. He misses the calls they started having after they made up. He misses getting lunch with him. He misses the way they used to be when they were younger; How Dante would ask him for help with his math homework, how Dante used to pack his lunch in the mornings because their mom had to go to work early.
He'd just gotten his brother back. Years and years of being angry at him, of not talking, and when they’d finally made up he’d lost him again.
And now it almost happened twice.

Summary
Tim's days have begun to blend together. He's lonely, depressed, and pretty much forgotten.
One day he gets bit by a spider on patrol.
Weird things start happening. He gains powers. These powers happen to match up with a vigilante based in New York. There can't be two Spider-men, can there?
He leaves for New York to learn how to control these new powers so he can get back to his life. Somewhere along the way, he realizes his life hasn't actually been that great. Somewhere along the way, he finds himself again, and learns how to live. And also becomes Spider-man. So, y'know. Win-win.

“Bracelets.” he answered simply, holding them up in Ghost’s view. “But not just any bracelets. They’re called wishing bracelets and supposedly you make a wish before puttin’ it on and once it falls off or somethin’ like that, then your wish came true.”
He took a small breath.

He gulped, he figured he might have ten minutes to live if he was lucky. He had been fucking Price’s golden boy and he knew that the man would not be pleased. It was worth it but damn this was not how he thought he would go out. He had thought that he would die on the battle field or in a failed explosions test at the very least.

Soap gets found out and almost dies in the process. Price is a protective dad and Simon has to step in to save his man.
