    Summary

After an accident left her comatose, Weiss' father bought the best robotics and medical prosthesis companies to incorporate into the Schnee Corp family, pushing medical prosthesis technology standards. Weiss, outfitted with a state-of-the-art new body became the living mascot for the Schnee Corp. Tired of being paraded about, tinkered with, upgraded, and being treated as nothing more than Schnee Corp property, she made a break for it, escaping with the aid of her sister, an underground robotics engineer. The two had been close before Weiss' accident, and all these years later, they're as close as ever, but some lines are hard to find and their relationship may be more than either of them initially intended once it's all laid out.

Carmilla and Laura - Reimagination by

    Summary

A vaguely similar, modern era retelling of the J. Sheridan le Fanu classic "Carmilla".

This is not a line by line retelling, but more an homage to the classic, Gothic story of the vampiress Carmilla and her obsession Laura. I spent some time banging my head over the swap from 1st to 3rd person narrative, but I wanted to be able to do scenes where the original narrator (Laura) was not present.

This was brought about by my seeking inspiration for other stories, finally getting around to reading the original Carmilla, and then reading five different retellings of it by other authors. Now that the bug is in my head, I present to you, the audience, a modern retake that is, hopefully, better than that dreadful web series.
