Summary
Eight years.
Eight years of therapy, of carrying the love without breaking under it, and staring at the cream envelope in his nightstand drawer. Eight years of work just to become a man who could stand on a terrace and apologize without making it a demand.
And now Giyuu was here. In his building. On his project. Extending his hand and saying let's start over with a smile that contained no resentment and no strings and no demands and that was, in its simple warmth, the most generous thing anyone had ever given him
Sanemi has spent nearly a decade proving he isn't his father—now he has to prove it to the only person who ever saw the truth.

Summary
“Fighting a Lower Moon alone? Are you out of your damn mind?”
Giyu flinches at the whisper-shout, his exhaustion making him slow to process the sudden intensity. “I’m a Hashira,” he murmurs, his tone even, though the words come out softer than he intends, “I can handle it.”
“Clearly not!” Sanemi snaps back, his voice rising slightly before he reins it in, casting a glance toward the door as if to make sure no one heard, “You almost died, Giyu! You should never have gone on this mission alone, especially after Rengoku just—”
Sanemi cuts himself off abruptly, his jaw clenching as he turns his head away. His hands curl into tight fists at his sides, the knuckles pale. The unfinished sentence lingers in the air, heavy and suffocating.
~~~
OR: Giyu is always reckless on missions, getting himself hurt and throwing himself into unnecessary danger. He never thinks much of it—it’s not like anyone would care much if he did die. Sanemi decides to show him just how wrong he is.
Summary
Tengen Uzui wakes to warmth, to laughter, to the steady presence of Kyojuro Rengoku beside him — a life so gentle he doesn’t dare breathe too deeply in case it shifts. The days unfold in soft repetition: quiet mornings, shared tea, the brush of hands that feel lighter than they should. Shadows fall strangely. Footsteps leave no mark. Warmth flickers like a candle in a draft.
Uzui notices.
He just chooses not to look too closely.
Because some moments feel borrowed.
Because some silences feel heavy.
Because some truths wait patiently at the edges of a dream.
And Uzui has never been good at letting go.
A story about lingering grief, borrowed mornings, and the love we hold onto even as it slips through our fingers.
“Can we change our relationship?”
It took everything in Sanemi to not gasp or run out of the closet. He knew his face was super red from the blush that had formed and that his eyes were almost out of their sockets.
He had to swallow a few times to make sure his voice didn’t crack when he said “H-huh, what?”
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Or: A silly party game at Uzui's house leads to both Giyuu and Sanemi being forced inside a dark closet where they have to share seven minutes together all alone.
Sanemi wonders if he will be able to contain all the feelings he has felt towards Giyuu deep inside him or if he will end up spilling them all.
Summary
He was supposed to be dead. Giyuu had seen the grave; he had felt the hole left in the world when that fire went out.
"...I’m losing my mind," Giyuu breathed, his knuckles whitening as he clenched his fists. The silence of the house felt predatory now, closing in around him. There was nothing more terrifying than being trapped alone with a mind that was beginning to fracture.He blinked, a sharp, stinging motion intended to clear the hallucination.
But when his eyes opened, the dust was gone. The cold, heavy ache in his chest had vanished, replaced by the savory, mouth-watering scent of grilled Salmon, and the golden glow of lanterns..
Post canon timeline, Tomioka reminisces about the past..but maybe the past is actually the present, and the future was nothing but a stupid daydream.
