Summary
The unfortunate nature of kindness is that it is not in itself an option, but a sensibility to the way that one goes about things. Some choices in life are kind, some are good, and the two sets are not identical. The Lands Between have been shattered long enough that if kindness could have mended them it would have.
Dee is a kind woman. Desperate, too. She's working on the rest.

Summary
Their hands met, Melina holding her with such a tender, graceful grasp. Stella prepared herself, beginning to once again let Melina know where she wanted the runes to grow, before Melina cut her off.
“Tarnished. Share with me your name?”
Stella was stunned. This couldn’t be part of the process, could it? There was no reason to know. But it also wouldn’t hold any power over her. Any allies or enemies she once held at Raya Lucaria would be long dead by now, and she had never grown influential enough to reach beyond those enchanted walls.
Melina, patient as ever, gazed up at her.
“...Stella.”
This time, Stella was sure a smile danced across Melina’s lips, but then power began to flow, and Stella felt it surge through her.
-
Stella has found a second life in being tarnished, but the world she knew as a student of Raya Lucaria is dead. Now she must search for the Elden Ring, but a confusingly powerful, beautiful, and enigmatic rose-haired maiden is her only guide. Perhaps she can succeed on her own ambitions, but maybe the two can learn to grow ever closer, crafting a new age together.

Summary
Taylor Swift and Dorothea Hawthorne quite literally grew up together.
They became best friends in their childhood, and when Dorothea's custody situation forced a move to Tennessee, Taylor convinced her family to follow, driven as much by their bond as by her nascent music dreams. Their friendship evolved into first love during high school, but when Dorothea got into college in California just as Taylor's career was taking off, she ended their relationship, insisting she wouldn't hold Taylor back from her destiny. No amount of attempts at staying in touch was enough to prevent them from eventually becoming strangers to each other again.
Fifteen years later, during the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, both women are trapped in failing relationships and consumed by regret. Seeking connection, they separately join an anonymous letter-writing app, and find each other without knowing it.
OR
In which Taylor and her childhood best friend (and later first love) become pen pals and start confiding about how much they miss their exes, not aware that they're, actually, talking to said ex.
