Summary
Simon wakes up in a strange dark place, delirious with pain and surrounded by monsters moving in the shadows. He thinks he's fighting for his life... and an Eridian medic is badly injured. Despite Grace's protests, Simon is deemed "dangerous" and banned from the surface of Erid for the duration of the judicial process.
This is how the Hail Mary becomes a jail cell parked at the top of a space elevator.
Grace feels awful about his part in all this. As Simon's advocate, he's asked to provide evidence that "The Man From Mars" isn't actually a threat. But how do you get a testimony from a man speaking a completely unknown dialect? No problem, Grace has experience with language barriers... Except Simon won't even say Grace's name, let alone interact with "the madman" voluntarily. Which might have something to do with the 'pinning and sedating' thing...
Yeah, now that he thinks about it, maybe Rocky's idea to help Simon "make friends on Erid" isn't so crazy.

Summary
Exactly what it says on the tin - this is essentially my own take on "Saving Grace" and other Rocky POV fanfics, with a concerted effort on my part to make it Andy Weir-esque in tone and writing style.
I don't have any grand plans with this series, and I doubt I'll end up writing the whole book - however, I am putting effort into keeping the chapters I do write as internally consistent as possible. The other main goal of this exercise is exploring Rocky's character as I understand him and giving myself space to flesh out and explore my own ideas about Eridiankind in general.

Ryland Grace really is an Angel, capital "A" and everything!! He promises!!! Why won't this guy he saved believe him?
Simon has seen his fair share of people driven insane by the void. Grace is harmless, nice even, but some of the shit he does some days gives Simon a heart attack
