He grabs the discarded knife, makes an incision in the hem of his shirt, and tosses it out of reach. Will follows it with his gaze.
Mike tears a strip from his own shirt, and pushes Will's head back against the ground.
Will's breathing is ragged.
“Easy.”
He grunts.
Mike drapes it sideways across his face, like an eyepatch. “Remember?”
Will nods, and closes his eyes. His left hand twitches.
Mike whispers soothingly as he ties it in place. “You’re an artist, Will. At least give this a try before you ruin your depth perception forever.”Series

His heart twists. He can still hear Will's desperate pleas, years ago, in the shed.
“Why am I tied up? Why am I tied up?!”
“I don't think you want me to do that,” Mike whispers.
Will folds in on himself. “Please.”
“I don't want to do that,” he clarifies.

Spock tried to stop, tried to calm himself, as he realized he was going mad with it. Mad with the power of making the great James T. Kirk a panting, begging mess beneath him.

“You nailed the trauma of abuse. The doubt, the shame, feeling like any kind word or touch is undeserved to someone as wretched as you. That being good means being obedient. And to top it all off with Kirk's self sacrificing to even slightly alleviate the pain of his crew? It really exacerbates his rock bottom sense of self. Kirk could never think poorly of his crew, could never allow violence of any kind against his crew, but at the cost of his own diminishing physicality and self worth. If Kirk were alone, with no one as leverage, would he have yielded so easily? Perhaps not. But he wouldn't have survived.
Men are only as good as their leader, indeed.
