A young human life cleric finds herself in a place outside of her intended destination to the disappointment and frustration of her goddess. Now trapped within Barovia, a place of tragedy where hope is fleeting and heroes are slew in the dozen, Alice (level 13) is… let's say is less than impressed.
Still bitter from why she is here, she is forced to protect a group of bright eyed (level 1) adventurers along with finally confronting her past; A group determined to march their way to Strahd, despite being warned they will be killed with the snap of a finger because they are certain that Alice is merely being a debbie downer.
Will she manage to somehow find hope in the end, despite marching herself to her own death regardless of her choices (as far as she can tell)?
Will she make friends along the way?
Will she somehow find a way out?
Will she somehow be saved from her fate?
Will she somehow be saved from her god(s)?
Will she find love?

Summary
This is a story about Invisigal's early steps as a full hero after the ending of Dispatch season 1. There is action, emotional moments, some romance, but the main point of the story is Invisigal and how she navigates the transition from a phoenix to a hero.
Possible angst warning: Chapters 10, 14, 15, and 30 are pretty loaded with emotional moments, in particular chapters 15 and 30.
There are some notes at the end of chapter 1 explaining some things.
