Also available in trans Billy flavour because that’s my personal trans agenda.
Before, they were only as close as Billy let anyone get, but lately the distance between them has been shrinking. He’s not the kind of guy who likes to talk about himself. Mostly he listens, prods, collects, but never offers. He learned young that when you’ve got a brain like he does you can’t afford to tell people what you’re thinking or how you really feel. Stu isn’t one of those people though, Stu has to keep his thoughts secret too and now this is theirs to keep, between them.
This is mostly only going to be in cannon with the first movie (the movie 3 retcon is not for me), but may also diverge in some places, especially when we get to the events closer to the end of the first movie. More specific tags and warnings will be in the end of chapter notes.Series

The gym's right at the end of the hallway, next to the emergency exit, and there’s a narrow window in the door that Billy can peer through. He suddenly feels silly, like a student that’s too scared to knock on the principal’s door, and he’s about to turn away when he sees a tall, lanky guy dive into a handstand, his grey shirt sliding down to his chest to reveal a narrow strip of pale skin. He stays upside down for a moment, then jumps back onto his feet, sneakers squeaking on the floor. Just a way to keep Ponyboy safe. Just something to keep the Socs from looking too close.
Johnny’s good at pretending he doesn’t feel things. Ponyboy’s good at pretending things don’t hurt. Neither of them are as convincing as they think, especially not with each other.
And when the Socs decide to stop playing nice, Johnny has to decide how far he’s willing to go and what it’ll cost him to come back from it.
