"Here," he faced Kaveh to hand him the book. "I'd like you to read me this."
Kaveh merely stared at the title for a few moments, slack-jawed. He slowly raised his hands to take it, letting out a nervous chuckle.
"This is a joke, right?" He laughed, uncertain. "It has to be. Did Tighnari put you up to this? You guys better still plan on paying me."
"Why would I be joking?" Alhaitham asked. "I can't read, so I'm paying for the services of someone who can."
"Th-" Kaveh sputtered. "They have audiobooks, you know?!"
Alhaitham isn't allowed to read for a month after an eye surgery, so he takes the next logical step and hires a kids' storyteller.

His expression morphed into an incredulous grin as he examined the object in his hands.
“Are you shitting me?” he seemed to say under his breath.
“Senku?” Suika asked, hesitantly, but their friend didn’t seem to listen—he only kept staring with wide eyes.

Senku’s grin looked a little scary when he finally stood. “Do you see this?” He pointed at a hole in the center, which Chrome was sure hadn’t been there before.
He and Suika nodded, and Senku laughed:

It's been five years since Senku & co. graduated from Hogwarts, and Senku still has a lot he intends to learn now that his days being interrupted by Voldemort's plans are over. So why does it look like someone's intent on killing him again?
Oh, and he seems to be stuck in some sort of time anomaly, too. He'll need to investigate.aka: Senku is being hunted down during a time loop, but decides not to look a gift horse in the mouth. The universe might regret it.

William didn’t let it show, but that did take him by surprise—he thought he’d been doing a pretty decent job concealing that particular side of him.
“Oh, do I give it away that easily?” he responded without missing a beat. “My self-defense tutor would be disappointed—my brothers insisted we hire him after I was kidnapped some time ago. He always said the element of surprise was to be my best weapon.”
Sherlock smirked, probably seeing right through him.
“Clever man,” he conceded, but William knew he wasn’t talking about his “tutor”. He was forced to suppress yet another smile. Damn you, Holmes.
We didn't have enough sherliam interactions in canon that were just "I know you know I know you know, but I have to pretend that I don't know" so I'm here to add some more (this fic is pretty much just a love letter to the catch me if you can scene).
But also: what if Sherlock figured out what William's planning just a little earlier?
