Maybe it was a little childish to be upset but he totally had that thing with the weird mutant moth under control last night. Peter leaned against the wall while MJ milled around talking to people trying to figure out what the big scoop was here. ‘There always has to be a reason for an exclusive, Peter!’ she had said. Yeah, Peter thought, and the reason is Johnny Storm loves the attention. Peter fiddled with his camera. Action shots were more his thing, particularly somehow managing to take action selfies of himself as Spider-Man or a few of his supercharged enemies. Pictures of egotistical superhero’s shirtless? Not really his area.

Long, flame-red hair was splayed across a white pillow, a stark and vibrant halo of color. His face, in repose, was a sculpture of masculine grace—a strong jaw, high cheekbones, lips that were full and soft. He was built, too. The simple sheet covering him did little to hide the broad expanse of his shoulders or the powerful lines of his chest and arms, all relaxed in the vulnerability of sleep. He was a knight, no doubt. A warrior. But there was a softness to him, an unblemished purity that seemed to radiate from his very skin. He was a living, breathing work of art.
Boothill stood frozen in the doorway, his jaw slack, his usual cocky smirk completely gone. The hunger in his stomach was still there, but it was now joined by a different kind of ache, a strange, tight feeling in his chest he’d never experienced before. His heart—the black, shriveled thing he barely paid any mind to—gave a painful lurch. Who the fuck was this?

Peter sits down at his desk—well, it’s supposed to be a desk. If you wanted to be super technical about it, it’s just a pile of textbooks covered by a tablecloth he’d scavenged from Aunt May’s the second time he moved out. But there aren’t any concrete rules about what does and doesn’t count as a desk. It’s an abstract thing, really.
He opens the notebook in front of him, ripping out the first few pages. He doesn’t need them, and he isn’t going to buy a whole new notebook for this. That’s the entire point.
