“My brother is getting married and I think he’s convinced I do nothing but sleep in the call room and talk to monitors. And every year, I say no, which leads to a lecture on work-life balance. So... I might have told him I already had a plus-one this time.”
That draws a disbelieving laugh from Robby, who stops and stares at him over his glass frames. “And you don’t actually have anyone to bring to Nebraska, I take it?”
“No,” Dennis admits scrubbing a hand over his face.
“Damn,” Robby sighs a sly smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Please tell me you didn’t invent a fake surgeon.”
And, well, at least he didn’t technically lie about the profession. “Not exactly.”
“What does that mean, Whitaker?”
Dennis lets out a groan, letting his head drop back against the couch He takes a long beat, realizing he’s already too deep to pull back now, and offers his attending the kind of honesty he couldn't manage. “I might have told him I was bringing my chief?”
OR: Dennis panics and lies to his family about having a boyfriend to bring home to Nebraska for his brother's wedding. That "boyfriend" happens to be Doctor Robby.

"Man, early fifties, motorcycle versus car, was unconscious at the scene, briefly gained consciousness in the rig but couldn't understand a word we were saying," said the paramedic quickly while taking the gurney out of the ambulance.
It was like a cold bucket of water emptied on the both of them.
"Is that Robby?" Mateo said uncertainly.
"You know him?" Said the Paramedic while pushing the unconscious man lying on the gurney into the hospital aided by her colleague.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" shouted Shen, unable to keep calm. "He's a doctor here. Fuck, someone go get Abbott now. It's Robby!" he screamed at no one in particular.
OR: Robby gets into a motorcycle crash on his way to his sabbatical, and Dennis takes care of him.
