Steve thinks for the second time that night that he wants to kiss Eddie Munson.
or, Steve and Eddie become friends in the months leading up to everything falling apart, and it seems they can’t catch a break because things keep falling apart.
or, Steve gets Vecna’d, Eddie almost dies, the world feels like it’s ending any day now and Steve gets Vecna’d for a second time, all the while realising that he’s falling in love with Eddie.

Summary
Eddie Munson doesn't mind working at the Family Video Store. It's a nice sense of normalcy (not to mention money) and he gets to see Robin more because of it. However, between working together and sharing the same best friend, he's also been seeing a lot more of Steve Harrington.
He wants nothing more than to enjoy mindless fun with his friends now that everything with Vecna is over, but Eddie's finding it hard to move on from what happened. Even if the strangest thing in his life right now was simply the fact he and Steve Harrington might actually be friends.

The descent is slow, like watching someone knock your mom’s favorite crystal vase off the shelf and the sheer horror and panic that overwhelms you and slows time down, makes you think that you can get across the room in time to catch it.
But you never do, do you?
The vase shatters and with it, so does every preconceived notion you have of yourself.
That’s what Steve learns.
He learns how to fall, gracefully even.
And in the end, he learns how to shatter.Or
Steve saves Eddie in the Upside Down and it's hilarious and it broke Steve wide open.
There is family, and oh god, there is so much love.
