Summary
Buck has always been good at pretending he's fine.
So when the lights are too bright, the sirens are too loud, every sound feels like it's scraping against his nerves, and his entire body is begging him to escape his own skin, he does what he always does: keeps moving and insists he's just tired.
The team notices. Buck brushes them off. Then Eddie walks into the firehouse.
Before Buck can think better of it, he's crossing the locker room, climbing into Eddie's arms, and clinging to him like he's the only solid thing left in the world.
Eddie doesn't question it. He just holds him because sometimes Buck doesn't need to explain what's wrong. Sometimes he just needs someone who knows how to make the world quiet. And Eddie has always been very good at that.

"E-Eddie," Buck croaks helplessly.

Buck closes his eyes. Squeezes them shut, really.
Eddie tugs his face into the curve of Buck's shoulder before he can lose the nerve, Buck's pulse fluttering wildly against the tip of Eddie's nose.
Buck is struggling after the events in New Mexico. Eddie decides to move in with him about it.
