Summary
In which Bond is a retired naval commander with too much house, Q is a mechanical engineer with too many sisters, and they have lengthy conversations about decorum, bonnet-ribbons and philosophy in Regency England.
~
“I just thought you might go pay a visit," his mother suggested.
“Me?” Q asked, aghast. “Pay a visit?”
“He must be starved for proper gentleman company, now that he’s settled in so far from London--”
“I am far from proper gentleman company.”
“--and perhaps if you befriended him he could introduce you to some nice heiresses.”
“Heiresses?” Q repeated, baffled and horrified. “What in the world would I do with heiresses?”

Summary
After finding missing and inconsistent files, Q finds himself tracking down the secrets and origin of the mysterious agent 007, which is complicated by the fact that he's falling in love.
~
—The last thing the King said to me was, ‘Thou art a true knight. Keep faith. Keep to the code’.
Thou shalt not tell a falsehood: that was the first to go.
Keep the faith: that was next.
Over the years, every part of the code has come into conflict with every other part. Shall I keep my faith or shall I keep from telling falsehoods?
In the end, I had to choose only one tenet that would remain sacred. Because the true question that every knight one day has to face is whether he will keep the code or serve his country.
He lived and died and sleeps in stone by the code. He never doubted, never lied.
He never had to.

Summary
“Names are important,” the dragon said. “Surely even you must know that.”
He ignored the barb, which was more teasing rather than outright mocking. “Is that why you will not give me your name?”
“No.” The dragon’s smugness, while irritating, did wonders to smooth the bitter lines of his face. “I did not give you my name because you never thought to ask for it.”
Q flushed at this pointed reminder of his appalling lack of manners, but attempted to cover for it by asking politely, “Then may I inquire what your name is?”
“Bond,” the dragon replied. “James Bond.”
In which Q is tasked with taming a dragon, James declines to be tamed (although he wouldn’t mind getting to know the young upstart a bit more), and both learn how to stop falling to the earth.Bookmarked by bluelongan
