In a universe where ancient Greek gods and goddesses can choose to bless mere mortals with divine strengths, sending a drop of ichor down into infants’ foreheads and a light to shine down on them at birth. It was somewhere in-between rare and uncommon, the selection of these ‘demigods’ of sorts, but not unheard of.
Connor Murphy, for instance, had been chosen by Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love and beauty (among other things). Connor Murphy vehemently disagreed with her.

Summary
Evan Hansen has been trying to get himself together. He wants to prove to himself that he can be self sufficient and not crushingly mentally ill. He packs up and moves to New York City, prepared for a city that is every bit as cynical as he is.
But then, there's a gorgeous guy on Evan's train. Connor, with his vintage new wave charm and his devastating smile. At first Evan dismisses it as just a fleeting infatuation, one of those public transit daydreams. He's fallen in love with plenty of strangers for a few moments before. This is nothing.
Until, of course, it isn't. As they get to know one another, Evan becomes the sort of person who looks forward to his commute because of his subway crush. So, naturally there's a snag: Connor isn't someone with a vintage sense of style. He's literally vintage. Unstuck in time and trapped on the subway.

Summary
Eddie never was a planner, but his new life necessitates having some idea of where he’s going, and when he’ll get there. He’d like to think that makes him more mature, but he’s still flying by the seat of his pants when it comes to the big picture. Getting his CDL was a way to escape Hawkins. To see the country, even if he’s mostly seeing long, lonely stretches of interstate in between depots.
There are bright spots. Hazy desert sunrises that make him want to write a sad song, and the occasional free evening to take in a show, meet some locals. Follow a pretty girl to her apartment if she’ll have him.
Most of the time, though, life comprises shitty diner burgers and far too little sleep. It's a lonely existence, but it suits him fine, until the night a strawberry-blonde ponytail at a gas station in Kentucky stops him in his tracks.

Summary
Peter Parker's life doesn't need an influx of new, distinctly spidery Spider-Man powers. He would gladly spend the rest of his days not creating tiny spiders from nowhere, for example. Like, in a, "yes please, I'll take two orders of the 'no spider-parenthood lifestyle,' hold the whip" kind of way. And that's only the start of how certifiably nuts his life has gotten lately.
But... okay, the spiders are pretty cute. And the other powers, well, aren't horrible. He supposes. And if Deadpool seems to think his new spidery skills are great and interesting and hot (which is weird, but not as objectionable as Peter would expect), that's... that's not so horrible, either.
Alternatively: Peter's powers are a joke, he's broke, and his love life... isn't all that DOA.

“Don’t worry,” Wade tells him. Summer in the city is blissful, but none of that elation is displayed in the dismal gray sky or the frantic traffic below them. “I’m sure that one day, somebody’ll come to punish me for all the things I’ve done in my life. I just don’t recognize anybody who can.”
Peter reaches forward. Wraps his fingers around his arm. Holds him to hold him. “But I don’t want your punishment.”
He wants his health. He wants his happiness. He wants him.
“I want your recovery. And I don’t-” His grip tightens. “I don’t know how to help you.”
Wade takes his hand and presses it against his heart.
“This,” He admits, a smile ghosting across his lips. “This is how.”
After Doctor Strange’s spell and month after month of starved depression, the last thing Peter needs is Deadpool settling down in Queens with a beyond-the-grave mission from Tony Stark to “find and protect the kid”. Hoping to distract him from finding his identity, he develops an alliance with the mercenary. Then a friendship. Then a crush. With lines getting crossed and connections growing deeper, by the time Peter realizes he's fallen in love, it's far too late to back out.
