Suddenly, Buck drops forward a bit, bumping his head against Eddie's collarbone with a quiet exhale.
"You good, man? What was that?" Eddie asks with a hesitant chuckle.
Buck shrugs. "Just… instinct, I guess." He responds, scratching his neck. "Seemed like the thing to do."
Eddie concedes with a shrug and a short "Alright then." If Buck wants to headbutt him because it feels like the thing to do he won't stop him.
OR: 4 times Buck drops his weight on Eddie without any explanation and 1 time Eddie asks why.

His mom clears her throat, squinting her eyes at Eddie. “Whose is he? Do you—Do you have a new girlfriend?”
Theo giggles and looks up at her from below. “Eddie doesn’t have a girlfriend! That’s silly!”
Eddie nearly chokes. Silly… Yeah, maybe so. “Uh—No. No girlfriend.”
“Then whose is he, Eddie?” His dad asks.
And with the comedic timing of one of those corny 90s sitcoms, Buck chooses that exact moment to walk out of the kitchen.
Or: Eddie's parents make a surprise visit for Christopher's sixteenth birthday. What they didn't expect was finding a few surprises of their own.
Or: Eddie is convinced the universe hates him when his parents come to visit. With them already believing he and Buck are together, Eddie decides to roll with it.

Summary
Reverting back to the man he was ten years ago, in regards to using his body to feel good, has been a good distraction from the storm in his head. He's no longer the man with a broken body and broken mind. For a night he's able to pretend he doesn't have flashbacks, panic attacks, and chronic pain.
But, the night ends. The sun always comes up. The fog of the night clears and he feels everything again. Sharp and hot.
A pill in the morning to take the edge off.
A pill before the night begins to dull the ache.
He only takes them because he needs them. He would be in pain if he didn't take them. He would. That's the only reason he keeps refilling his prescription. He'll stop as soon as he's fully healed.
He can stop.
