Kyouji sizes up the boy across from him and tries to put his finger on the nagging sense of familiarity. His hand reaches for his cigarettes in instinctive impulse, and he nearly has one at his lips before he thinks better of it. Tucks the pack back into his pocket instead.
"What’s your name, kid?"
"O-Oka," the boy stutters, and that nagging sense presses down harder. Imprints white against Kyouji’s skin like a tattoo.
"Oka Satomi," the boy finishes.
Oka. Oka Oka Oka. It rings in Kyouji’s head like a song he hasn’t heard in a long time and only faintly recognizes.
Kyouji ignores the feeling and smiles. "Satomi-kun."
You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.
