Summary
Eddie is a good guy, he knows that. And once you’ve been through something like what they’ve been through together, it ties you together in an intangible, indescribable, undeniable way. But sometimes he just doesn’t know how to talk to him. He’s… intense. Not necessarily in a bad way and Steve wouldn’t say it makes him uncomfortable exactly. But every time Eddie pushes and prods and gets too close there’s a strange heat that fires in him. Something somewhere between fascination, annoyance, and embarrassment and it’s… off-putting to say the least.

Steve makes a face at Eddie. “You've imagined doing stuff with a guy?”
“Yeah, man,” Eddie replies, spreading his hands wide. “Doesn't everyone?”
Steve tilts his head to the side as he thinks. Maybe not very often, but his freshman year when Davey Riggs had been swim team captain? Yeah, he had definitely imagined some stuff that had made trips to the locker room kinda awkward.
“Yeah, that's true,” Steve answers, nodding. “I wonder why everybody acts like it's so gross, though.”
In the summer of 1986, Steve and Eddie have some perfectly normal fun between a couple of perfectly normal dudes.

Summary
Shane struggled again, but it was all an act. He was going melty under Ilya’s grip, now that Ilya was trapping him with chest and arm and hands. He felt his own grin turn a little mean, felt his nose scrunch up. Shane pushed at him half-heartedly. “I didn’t look like a fucking Beatle.”
Ilya finally got his hand in the back of the mullet, and pushed his fingers up, up through it, back to front. Shane looked like a cat that had gotten pet the wrong direction: fluffed and goofy.
