    “Ain’t I heavy?”

    “No, not really. I’ve got you mostly on my shoulders and chest. I would’ve offered this from the start, but I know your stubborn ass would’ve said no.”

    “Yeah…” he muttered. Clover yawned and rested his head in the crook of Zinny’s neck, leaned against him; Zinny hoped he didn’t notice his face practically steaming. Clover closed his eyes, feeling the strong thrum of Zinny's heartbeat, the pleasant buzz in his throat as he talked about…something. This was nice. Clover’s breathing slowed; his body relaxed as he curled up against Zinny's warmth, holding himself close with his arms locked snug around Zinny's shoulder and neck. This was really, really nice…

    “—and, I don't know, I guess they just believed me? Or didn't care enough to really look into it. So, like, anyways, I did that for pretty much an entire year and—” He paused. “Clover? Did you fall asleep?” He waited.

    No response.

    “Oh my god,” he muttered, “you are so cute.”
