Joey remembered all the times Pacey had come to the Icehouse and sat there irritating her until they closed, instead of going home; all the times she had found him asleep on the porch chair of Dawson’s house with a blanket around him, after Dawson and her had kicked him out of movie night because he was being annoying; all the times she’d seen him head to the marina instead of his house on the evenings they’d separated from hangouts early; the dread she’d always seen - but never acknowledged - on his face, whenever he had to go home for any reason. So much of that behavior made sense now.
How could she face him after knowing about this? How could she face him after knowing just how much of an ignorant bitch she had been to him? She didn’t have a clue, but she was determined to make amends. She’d do whatever necessary to help him out.OR
Joey finds out about Pacey's abuse just after the events of the season 1 episode 'Double Date', and it changes everything.

“Pacey, gross.” she said, cheeks flaming with heat. “That’s not possible. I haven’t gotten mine yet.”
Somehow, Pacey’s eyes got rounder.
“I’m no expert on the matter.” His voice was extremely cautious. “But I’m pretty certain you just got your first.”

There was really no explanation. They argued all the time, and yet ever since that night at the Rialto, there had been an undeniable gravitational pull between the two of them. A pull that forced Joey to allow Pacey closer each time he attempted to kiss her. Joey still felt his breath against her mouth. Being behind the camera would prevent her from having to kiss Pacey and all the weird butterflies the prospect was making her feel.

To make the most of their boring circumstances, a bucket list of adventures varying from wild, to random, to trite is concocted. Will Pacey and Joey complete them in time? Will the proximity and ridiculous shenanigans produce even bigger news to share with their friends when it comes time to return to Boston?
I don't expect this fic to be as in-depth (nor anywhere near as long) as This Could Be It. This is a stand-alone - *not* connected to that fic. I have no idea how often I'll post, but I'm going to try to work through this insane brain fog and I kindly request some patience as I do so. I came up with a whole outline for this fic and thought I'd see where it goes. ❤️
