    Wilbur's eyes find him and crinkle. "Hello, there," he coos, dropping down to Tommy's level. Even kneeling down, he towers over Tommy. "What a cute little thing. I don't suppose you're Tommy's new stray?" He brings a hand to Tommy's neck, feeling around for something. If Tommy could actually fucking move, he would back away. His legs wobble under his weight. "No nametag, huh? Did you just wander in?"

    Tommy wants to shake his head, wants to hiss a warning and tell the man to back off. He's not a raccoon, though. He doesn't know what he is.

    "Oh, dear, you're shaking," Wilbur says, pouting. "Come on, precious, let's get you home. If Tommy's not keeping you, I sure will. Are you hungry?"

    Or, Tommy used to be a raccoon hybrid. Somehow, he no longer is.

    Siren sighs. One hand comes up to his face, and Tommy freezes. No. Don’t take your mask off. I can’t look at you, not now.

    But the villain just runs a hand through his hair, letting out a shuddering breath. “You… you kinda changed? I swear, you’re acting so different, Toms. I just don’t know what happened.”

    That’s my line, Tommy’s heart mumbles. That’s my hell.

    But his mouth manages to shape the words, even if his heart refuses to believe them.

    “No. Nothing happened.”

    Tommy stands a ways away from his still fangirling friends, looking at his phone to double check when their bus should be arriving. He can faintly hear chatter from the fans who aren't leaving yet from behind the wall he's leaning on.

    Footsteps approach, making him look up.

    "I knew it." Wilbur whispers, expression haunted and grim, eyes brimming with tears. "I knew- I knew I saw you in the crowd." Tommy gives him a sheepish smile. Wilbur inhales shakily, giving him a tiny, wobbly grin in return. It falls a moment later, and the man sniffles, swiping under his nose. Tommy has to hold back from throwing himself forward and crashing into Wilbur's arms.

    Wilbur's expression flashes to something angry for a moment, then it just becomes somehow even sadder. He takes a step forward, reaching out and cupping Tommy's face in his oddly cold hands. His hands have always been cold.

    "I thought you were dead." Wilbur sobs, voice just barely above a whisper, straining and cracking. Tommy winces.

    Or; Wilbur used to be Tommy's tutor, he sees the man again years later by accident.

    "I m— messed up." Tommy manages through a hiccup. "I d— deserve it."

    "No, no, you don't. Tommy, you're exhausted. You can barely stand." Techno says.

    "But I—"

    "Tommy, you're done." Techno says. "You did it. You put yourself through hell, and now you're done. You can stop now, okay? You're done."

     

    Or, in which Tommy sometimes finds himself caught up in his past, and when he accidentally upsets Wilbur, he ends up using his practice, as a punishment.

    “You fight like you’re dying.”

    Tommy "Theseus" Soot is the seven-time champion of the seasonal tournament hosted in Hypixel's Arena. Each season, he hopes to be paired with his best friend Ranboo, but the two never seem to get lucky enough. This winter, Tommy hopes for an easy eighth win to make his win streak two years long. When he's paired with temperamental Technoblade, who looks like he could kill someone with a glance, things start to seem like they might go south. Quickly.
