Opening night was a disaster.
Sure the critics will probably still call it a success, they’ll think well, the dancers all hit their marks and there weren’t any costume malfunctions, good enough!
But it’s not good enough. Not for me.———
Tobias watches his new ballet’s opening night in Le Ballet National’s house and when it isn’t perfect he has a meltdown. Thankfully, Gabin is there to help him through it.

His eyes stumbled upon a name in his contacts that made him pause.
Lassie ;)
He’d forgotten when he’d added that winking emoticon to Lassie’s name. It must’ve been a while ago. It was some old safety measure so that he would always be able to call Lassie in the case that he got kidnapped again and he could convince his captor to let him call a partner. It worked once with Juliet, but Lassie was more headstrong in cases like those.
On paper, Lassie seemed like the perfect person to call. Shawn was certain that he didn’t care about him enough to lecture him or to try and give him some form of sympathy, and that he would be able to swindle Lassie into getting a ride home.

(or, after a bad case, shawn falls back on some old, self destructive habits, involving a pushy creep and a little too much alcohol, so he calls lassie to save him. lassie comes, of course.)

Summary
Brian knew everything might be okay. He also knew that he was going to drift apart from them like everyone does, get a job in something high-level, maybe marry, and always be staring backwards towards these moments where he finally felt like a real person, someone people see. Someone that only existed with the Breakfast Club. Someone who would die at the same time as their friendship.
And then he remembered the initial horror and disbelief on their faces when he told them about why he was there. The fear in their eyes, their brittle smiles, careful touches, shaking hands. He saw their hearts rending under the surface.
Emotions people would act for— an opportunity.
AKA Brian’s suicidal tendencies (and everyone else’s issues) are addressed and the Breakfast club stubbornly stays together.
