Following Dottore's attempted destruction of the nation of dendro, Alhaitham is advised leave from work by their Archon and takes it under the agreement of authoring a new dictionary for the population of Sumeru. With years spent under the same roof, naturally, Kaveh becomes the co-author and his biggest inspiration.
Kaveh's still not sure why he wasn't chosen in the first place, though.

Suguru's been a published author ever since he and Satoru both left Jujutsu society, except that he finds releasing the next part of his novel appears to be much more difficult than he planned on it being when he runs into a bout of writer's block. He tries a true and tried method of using him and Satoru as inspiration.
Only he didn't plan on Satoru finding out about it.

This is, without a doubt, the most vulnerable Satoru has ever felt. He watches Suguru’s eyes soften with understanding, and he nods wordlessly.

He moans, overwhelmed, and into the skin of his torso, Suguru mumbles “Tell me when to stop.”
He says it like a plea, like he needs Satoru to keep him in line because he’s losing his own control.
What a silly thought, that he’d be so undone just with Satoru’s skin— but he is, they both are, ridiculously desperate for something so ordinary and carnal they never noticed they weren’t immune to it.

He doesn't know how to say it. So Satoru says it in other ways. In pissing Suguru off because at least then he's looking at him. In invading his space constantly because what's his is Satoru's, what's Satoru's is his, that's just the economy of them. In remembering every little detail — the brand, the flavor, the specific obscure thing Suguru mentioned once in passing that Satoru filed away like it was classified information. In learning how to do laundry for the first time in his eighteen years of life, for him, just for him. In being there when he's sick and throwing up and his body is rebelling against itself like it's staging a coup—
He says it in a lot of ways. He just can't say it out loud.

If Suguru used to think about his best friend a lot, now it’s blown past any semblance of rationality.
You taste good, Satoru had slurred into his neck. Suguru dreams about it probably every night. Probably, every night he dreams of the way Satoru sounds when his voice breaks on a moan, when his lips let past a plea.

Satoru seems fine to keep on living as they always have, even after they'd damn-near almost hooked up, coming back home from a party. Suguru has wanted him for so long, that one taste sends him spiraling.

The game was simple.
All he had to do was find the most composed, stick-up-his-ass older man in the room, and slowly take him apart. It had to be public enough to be thrilling, but private enough for plausible deniability. He’d watch that composure crumble as his target realized that some twenty-year-old twink was making his dick very inconveniently hard at some fancy event, and that there was absolutely nothing he could do about it.
