Knew this was going in bookmarks before I even finished it. DAMN. I’m obsessed with all of this. Tohru as a teen is just too adorable, and Narukami is so charming. I love the darker turn that charm takes, and REALLY love the last few lines at the end. Would enthusiastically welcome any continuation of this AU—I’m hooked!!

Summary
Now a law school student and an official of a certain Public Safety department, Yu returns to Inaba with the assignment to get Adachi's case out of the legal stalemate. Adachi, who never got a trial or a sentence due to the complicated circumstances of his case, has been stuck in jail for the past 5 years, which took a toll on him physically and mentally. The two deal with private and interpersonal issues as they struggle to make Yu’s plans on prosecuting the case work.

I could only dream of having this much talent. What an extremely engrossing sequel to another extremely engrossing fic. Both capture everything I love about the dynamic between these two. Easily the longest work I’ve ever read on AO3 but it doesn’t feel like it. I’m having a blast!
Update: All caught up and I can honestly say this is the most compelling long fic I’ve ever read

It’s absolutely criminal how little attention this fic has gotten. It’s a niche pairing so that’s to be expected but GOD I am reading this compulsively!! This is the definition of a hidden gem. The plot flows so seamlessly and the whole concept is just brilliant and so well executed. It’s evident the authors have had fun writing this and it really does rub off on the reader. I’ve found myself laughing out loud a multitude of times while reading. The only con of this fic is that there’s not more. Great stuff, highly recommend.
