It's incredible. This isn't fresh, this is an older fall, this is fully established, an ecosystem in its own right - beds of mussels, their soft tissues pale and hazy like a halo of gossamer fuzz over the greening bones. They're in the middle of the ribcage, maybe - the ribs themselves have fallen away, toppled over by sharks and the general processes of time, and Ray strains himself trying to reconstruct the geography of the fall in his head. He doesn't know where his fucking notebook is and all the cameras are dead, obviously. All he has is his memory.
