Sayeon was dreaming again.
Her dreams had become a hollow space, dark and infinite, a black so deep it nauseated her with the bubblings of vertigo. Dreams had always been a place reality came to bend, to close its eyes while her mind spun an improbable tale. This dream felt like where reality had come to die.
The Godling blinked itself awake, parting the black of the dream, its eye curving like a smile, sly. "So we meet again," it said in its ancient and unheard voice, a simple and undeniable presence of words and meaning within Sayeon's mind, as though this were a chance meeting on the street, a pleasant surprise that neither of them had been expecting, rather than an orchestrated visit. Or, Sayeon reminded herself, rather than a particularly strange and lucid dream. "Have you thought on my offer?"

This was ridiculous. Sayeon knew that, and she told Ryujin as much. "This is ridiculous," she said. Then, for good measure, she added, "And unnecessary." Then, as though Ryujin hadn't quite understood, and that was, in all fairness, how it appeared, she added, "Pointless."
"Yeah, yeah," Ryujin mumbled at her, waving her words off with two rapid flicks of her fingers, butterfly-quick. She did not seem to be listening to Sayeon, which, she had to admit, irked her considerably. "Shut the fuck up."
Sayeon would have wrenched herself away from Ryujin had she not had such a tight grip around her calf, the tips of her fingers, nails blunt, digging almost painfully into her flesh. Sayeon did have to allow that the gash on her leg, around the back of her calf, biting deep into the flesh from Sayeon's ankle all the way up to her knee, just barely missing the tendons, hurt more. "Really, Ryujin—"
"I said, shut the fuck up."

Then again, Ryujin supposed, Sayeon Lee walked a lonely path. She laughed to herself. She should hate her, down to her fucking bones. "Hah. No. I don't hate you, Sayeon Lee." She scuffed her shoe against the pavement. A pebble came loose. "What brought this on?"
Sayeon was quiet for a while. Too long a while. Ryujin looked up, frowning, another question on her tongue, which melted away when she saw the look on Sayeon's face. Sayeon smiled. She raised her hand, middle finger and thumb pressed together.

Summary
Impatient and hitting a plateau, Sayeon concludes she needs to pass as a sociable and impressionable young woman to the Naj recruiters– someone who would politely hear out their shady sales pitch; a true heaven-sent angel. Somehow, this leads to fake-dating Ryujin, especially since it would allow Sayeon to pry into her.
It turns out that the girl in question, who had lacked her usual retorts at the proposition, is enticed by using the pretense to mess with Sayeon.
Sayeon instead ends up masquerading the simple joys of a normal teenaged girl, what with Ryujin's indulgence, and is reminded of the stark difference with her own reality and identity.
And unbeknownst to Ryujin, Sayeon ends up weaponizing the premise as well. The former finds herself fed up with her cell leader's act, both inside and outside of missions.
