Summary
John Price was a fairly freshly appointed Captain, only just learning to navigate his new responsibilities that came along with the role when he was thrown in for a loop. Given the task of retrieving a man who isn't supposed to exist anymore, a man meant to be buried six feet under or left discarded amongst the ash and rubble.

Summary
He thought of all people they would cower from the bastard with the skull mask who joined Task Force 141 a year after John, but no — it was John who they were afraid of more than half the time.
Soap didn’t like Simon Riley. There was something about the man that unnerved him, something in those golden eyes of his. Too seeing, too knowing. He hated it.
John trusted Captain Price’s decision, knew the man didn’t bring people onto their team lightly. If he trusted Ghost, John would, too. But Ghost wasn’t the trusting type in return.

Summary
Solomon Reed was a dangerously alluring enigma wrapped in sweet, sweet leather.
'Course V wasn't blind. She knew a starved-to-the-bone (yet suspiciously well-trained) animal when she passed one.
But... there was a darkness to him. A kind that Johnny was only all-too familiar with. It frightened him. And it should've* frightened V, too.
(*Should've being the operative word, there.)

Summary
Johnny's expression never faltered. Not by a micron. He just... looked at her. Starved. Ravenous. And, deadly-fucking-serious.
“Wait...” V paused, observing him for any sign of deception. Finding none, she replied more slowly, “—holy shit, you're not kidding?”
“Far from it.”
“What happened to the whole, 'Nah, you're not my type', bullshit?”
“Well, yeah that was obviously just that: Bullshit. Have you seen you? C'mon,” he dressed her down with nothing more than a glance. Johnny's eyes lingered on her tattoos reaching down the valley of her tits, before leveling his gaze with hers.
“Let me make my offer undeniably clear, V. Pop half a pseudoendotrizine, wash it down with some scotch, and let me take the reins for a while. Since you refuse to jump on any real, physical options for some reprieve, it seems we're down to this. And let's just say: If you think you're touch-starved? You got no clue how isolating 50 years of soul-prison can be for someone like me. Combine that with your masochistic/altruistic seclusion, and I'm practically dyin' over here. I promise, we'll both feel born again afterwards. Whaddya say?”
