Despite the big move to Atlanta— where he and Mike happened to find a place together; cheaper, easier, and a little less lonely, a new town for the both of them to start over— Bill’s been enjoying the extra time for friends in his life. He’s slowly working on a new novel, he’s going to individual therapy, couples therapy with Audra— they’re so much better off as friends, but Audra suggested they maintain their bi-weekly appointments to avoid any bitterness— and once a month the Losers get together, digitally or otherwise, to reconnect, drink and catch up.
For the first time since he was a teenager, friendship isn’t hard to come by. But… romance? That book might be closed for awhile.

“Wh-what?”
“A date,” Eddie repeats slowly, like Richie’s a fucking idiot. And maybe he is, because he has absolutely no fucking clue what’s going on. “Dinner. Or a movie. Or… I don’t know, a club? I haven’t dated in a long time.”

Eddie yanks the VHS out of the box from Richie's mom. The stretched, yellowing piece of tape along the side reads “Prom 1994,” and when a cold, unadulterated shiver goes through Eddie’s body at the sight of the words, at the flood of memories that overflows him, he shoves it straight back under the loudly patterned t-shirt on top. Unfortunately, Bev sees him, and snatches the tape back.
“Oh my god,” she says, pressing the tape flat under her nail, “is this really our prom video?”
