Summary
A man stood in the middle of a ravine. A glowing stone in one hand, a ball of fire in the other. It danced in his palm and he watched it with a curious eye.
A few feet away stood three boys. Two were familiar, one was not—though, there was something about him that gave off a sense of deja vu.
Everyone’s bodies were blurred and warped. Their eyes were black and unseeing, chest unmoving when they were meant to breathe, limbs just an inch too long and smiles just a bit too wide to be real. It didn’t take a genius to see that something was off.
Still, the scene continued.

“I just don’t see why anyone would choose to live in a place without a bathroom,” Tommy shrugged. “But I guess you’re just weird.”
“I’m not weird! There are a lot of people who like living on the road,” Wilbur told him, furrowing his brows.
Tommy snorted. “Keep telling yourself that, bud. But I know you miss your shitter.”
Wilbur once again sighed. “Is this just what all our conversations are gonna be about? You harassing me over the fact that I don’t have a toilet?”
Suddenly, Tommy brightened up, as if he’d just remembered something. “As fun as that is, I actually have something to ask you.”
“What is it?” Wilbur asked, narrowing his eyes.
A hopeful smile spread across Tommy’s face. “Can you teach me how to play guitar?”
or, Wilbur agrees to teach a random kid how to play guitar, and ends up getting a little brother in the process.

Tommy jumps, shoulders curling up. His eyes fly up to Wilbur, following the way that Wilbur throws his hands, knowing the camera is soaking in every ounce of abject confusion and strand of horror using his face as a battlefield.
He can’t help it. All he can do is look at Wilbur and wonder who is talking to him: his best friend and co-star, or Wilbur’s character.
Tommy, nauseatingly, cannot tell the difference.'

"Do you think this is the end of the world?"
The question came out of nowhere, breaking the silence the two had been in since they climbed into Wilbur's car. Tommy's voice was soft, no brashness, no laughter hiding behind his words. He was tired. Wilbur was too.
"It might be," Wilbur admitted, voice just as soft. "Certainly seems biblical enough."
There have always been a few constants in Wilbur Soot's life. The fact that his father can't make bacon without burning it, the squeaky floorboard right outside his bedroom door that he's never been able to keep from stepping on, and the ever watchful Eye.
The Eye has sat in the sky for as long as Wilbur can remember. No one else can see the Eye, so he learned to stop talking about it long ago. He didn't need everyone in town thinking he was crazy for seeing a giant Eye in the sky.
Until one day, a teenager with a loud mouth moves to town. And with the way he keeps looking up at the sky, Wilbur starts to wonder if maybe, just maybe, he can see it too.

Tommy’s not a Huntsman Spider anymore, though. He made sure of that when the skies bled black with smoke and the horizon was stained with orange and red.
From a class of twenty-eight to a class of one.
Or, Tommy has escaped the Red Room, only to stumble into the lives of a family of Villains, who want him to join their ranks, a corrupt businessman and his makeshift family and a bunch of Heroes, who swear they want to help him.
