Summary
The war had ended, life went on.
Severus, fully committed to a quiet life away from the remnants of war and the enemies he had made, finds his fragile peace threatened by the return of a man he had refused to grieve, refused to allow himself to think about. He didn't want to remember the freezing cold night in Forbidden Forest, the man's pathetic attempt at a rescue mission. He didn't want to think about the spiral he fell into in the following days.
