Maehara isn’t entirely sure what would happen after the “betrayal” incident. He knew that his and Yu- Isogai’s friendship would become strained. And he’s not sure how he would feel about it. Maybe it would be best, y’know? Yu- ISOGAI, not Yuuma, not anymore, lied to him, betrayed his trust. (Stop! Don’t you see it? There has to be a reason. This is the kind-hearted Yuuma you love and care for! Why can’t you see it? Why aren’t you fucking helping him? Coward. Pathetic. Why are you such a bad friend?)
He looks at Isogai, who was the happiest he has ever seen him be, and he seemed to be laughing at whatever snarky remark Itona said. And, god, it still hurts. But he still wants to be friends. Once more.

Isogai certainly doesn’t regret befriending the Terasaka gang. He loves being with them. All this funny banter, teasing, normalcy and friendships that he never felt for the last five years. He was too busy with being forced to kill to do any of that. He barely laughed during those five horrible years so being able to do so feels great!
Was friendship always this great? Because he never felt this happy with Maehara! Was his friendship with him just destined to be just a childish friendship that is only for the past? He hopes not. He’ll break that wall that separates them and build a better friendship soon.
