Summary
He must have gotten up too fast because his head spins in that light way it does when blood pressure doesn’t keep up. The adrenaline hasn’t settled out yet because his hands are still shaking, in fact all of him is still shaking. Why hasn’t he caught his breath yet? He presses a hand against the pinch in his chest like that might help. And why does it feel like there’s a rod jammed low in his sternum–
“Oh, fuck,” she says, her gaze sweeping him up and down.
He glances down to see what’s upset her – maybe she’s just offended that his cologne rubbed off on her or afraid he’ll blame her for the minor road rash that stings all the way up his left arm–
“Oh –” the knot in his chest is actually a hole and it’s bleeding over his hand “– fuck.”

Summary
There’s no such thing as a “bad day” on the calendar, but why did it have to happen today?
The image of Robby’s angry face—because of his tardiness—filled Frank’s vision. He didn’t want to make a bad impression on the day Robby returned.
The long traffic jam was slowly clearing up, but why, just as he was stopped at a red light, did the horn from his right sound so loud and deafening?

Summary
It was a leap of faith that Peter took, doing Ned’s handshake in that bodega.
A giant leap of faith. The biggest jump he’s ever taken. Even bigger than jumping off the top of the Empire State Building (he goes there when he’s missing Peter Three, and he understands why Peter Three likes it so much. The fall is even better.)
It was a spur of a moment decision. Not reckless, like a lot of his impulsive decisions have been, but hopeful. Optimistic.
He hasn’t been optimistic lately. Not in years. He’d like to change that.
Ned is the perfect place to start

Summary
“I know this has to be really hard for you.”
“It’s not,” he says quickly, MJ looking at him doubtfully as he continues.
“I get that I should’ve told you, back then, but I also can’t pretend I regret it. I mean, look at you guys. You went to school and graduated and you had these really cool life experiences because you didn’t have to worry about Spider-Man.”
“That wasn’t your choice to make,” MJ repeats, Peter nodding as he puts his hands up.
“I know. I know it wasn’t, I just–” he stops, considers something for a beat.
“I spent a lot of time hoping that you two were okay, missing you guys and if this is what it’s like now, awkward and weird, then I’ll deal with it. I’ll take it.”
He wrings his hands together, smiling softly at her. “It’s a lot better doing this than living without you.”

Summary
Post BND.
"MJ..." he whispered, an ache flickering across his face—as if pleading with her to stay away."Please. Just... let me."
She let her hand hover over his battered skin.
He shuddered beneath her touch.
OR
MJ doesn't remember loving Peter.
Peter remembers everything.
But her body keeps responding to him in ways she can't control or explain—and maybe attraction can lead her somewhere memory no longer can.
Back to him.
Back to love.
Eventually.
