Summary

“Ladies and gentlemen!” Max declares, drowning out whatever Five is trying to say. “At last, allow me to introduce you to the harbinger of not one, but two apocalypses, the murderer of all eleven members of the Temps Commission’s board of directors, and an all around pain in my ass: Five Hargreeves.” He jabs the knife in Five’s direction, and though his technique is deplorable Five doesn’t doubt his intention in the slightest.
It isn’t until they begin to mutter amongst themselves that Five realizes he has an audience—a jury of twelve, sitting in their box on the wall. Five does not recognize most of them, but the ones he does know make the hairs on the back of his neck prickle. Whatever game Merriweather is playing will not end well.
