Summary
After his current living situation implodes, Hiei ends up rooming with Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Kurama. He expects chaos, noise, and at best, tolerable differences. What he doesn’t expect is immediate, unsettling chemistry with Kurama—or the realization that his new household is closer than it first appears. One impulsive decision on move-in day turns into an abundance of missed timing, polite notes, and spiraling assumptions as Hiei tries to convince himself he doesn’t care.

Summary
Kurama lets his youki open fully, pressing it into Hiei with intention. The contact sharpens, heat bleeding into heat, energy threading deeper than before.
Hiei gasps, his hands sliding up Kurama’s bare back, nails digging in reflexively. “That—that’s not—”
“Necessary?” Kurama finishes softly.
“Yes,” Hiei snaps breathlessly. His voice comes out low and strained. “I can’t focus when you’re this close.”
“Then don’t.”
When a routine mission leaves Hiei critically injured, Kurama must find him. In the frozen mountains, survival demands shared heat, shared energy, and a level of vulnerability Hiei never planned to voice. What begins as rescue becomes something far more intimate.

The response is immediate, reflexive and flat, and exactly what she had expected. Botan’s smile doesn’t waver. This is a familiar dance, one she knows every step of.
“You haven’t even heard what it is yet.”
“I don’t need to.”
“You’re going to at least listen. It’s a retrieval, more delicate than dangerous. A fugitive you’ll find irritatingly familiar.”
“My parole is up.” Hiei’s eyes narrow. “Koenma thinks dangling familiarity will make me agree?”
“No.” She leans a little closer, letting her breath fog in the space between them. “He thinks sending me will.”
When Botan tracks Hiei down during a winter storm with a request from Koenma, she expects resistance. What she doesn’t expect is the familiar quiet that settles between them—shared warmth, shared hunger, and the unspoken truth that agreeing has very little to do with the mission at all.

Summary
Zuko thought his life couldn't get any more complicated. Sent on a mission to retrieve a living relic in the missing Avatar to restore his honor, he resigned himself to an endless search. When he's falsely accused of treason and sent on the run, he doesn't expect an assassination attempt. He also doesn't expect to be rescued from the ice of the North Pole by a waterbender.
Katara thought forming a treaty idea between the North and the South would be easier than this. The war effort is dragging on, and her father's warriors are running out of resources to help protect the Earth Kingdom's southern shores.
