Jason Todd is many things: hero, smartass, wicked cool crimelord, world’s prettiest omega, zombie(?). Everybody knows that. What they don’t know is that he’s also a giant lovebug. Prime tells him as much as he crawls into Prime’s oversized hoodie with Prime still in it, stretching the fabric of the cotton collar where it’s worn thin and soft.
“Yeah, whatever,” Jason says, because at some point very early on in their relationship he developed the essential ability to tune out Prime’s inane rambling. Then he asks: “Do you care if I put you in one of my contingency plans?”
“Nuh-uh,” Prime says, drunk on the scent of contented omega.
“Cool. Next time I go into heat, you can join,” Jason says.
Prime obtains an omega, a pack, and a dam. It’s a weird week. He’s so friggin’ into it.

Once, twice, three times before cutting off abruptly on Jason's answering machine. People don't really even have those anymore.
The dial tone bleeds into the dark of his quiet apartment, red light on the archaic receiver blinking to prove that it's still alive.
'Show off.' Passes through his mind dreamily, like sheep hopping over a fence before floating off again. No further thoughts bubbling to consciousness until the receiver finally clicks.
He flinches when an unfamiliar voice crackles through.
"Hi, this is Jason."
