Summary
When Ajax bumps his head against his knee again Diluc does get up this time, absentmindedly reaching out to ruffle Ajax’s hair in the process. They both freeze at the same time.
“I apologise,” Diluc says, his hand still in Ajax’s hair. His fingers mildly twitch where they rest against his head, and Ajax swallows. There’s a strange heat curling in his stomach. Diluc’s touch nearly burns, nearly scalds him from the inside out, and he wants to lean into it.
He almost does. The haze doesn’t fully clear when he shakes his head lightly, and Diluc’s finger hooks around a strand of hair. “It’s fine. You like treating me like I’m some sort of dog, huh?”

Somehow, it became routine.

Ajax muffles another groan when Diluc presses the towel down on his skin again. The cold burns into his skin so well, it’s so good-
“Did you stretch before coming home?” Diluc murmurs, gently exploring the edges of the bruise with his fingertips.
His touch is starting to scald Ajax from the inside out. He’s so weak in the hands of his captain, but he knows Diluc is right. He should’ve. “No,” he breathes out instead.
Diluc’s hands are on his arm a second later, slowly but gently pushing it up until it’s stretched entirely and resting on the couch behind him. “Good boy, Ajax.”
