Peer pressure and bullying bring Izuku to the breaking point and from there the only way is further down, especially with a bit of help. But while finally giving up his lifetime goal seems to be the end of all of his problems, it turns out to be the beginning of someone else’s.

“Then it’s a deal,” Himiko lets go of his hand to hold it out for a handshake and Izuku scoffs because his heart is pounding out of his chest and he can’t show it but he shakes Himiko’s hand anyway.
“It’s a deal.”
(After they ride the rollercoaster, they do end up sharing a crepe. Himiko drags him around the whole amusement park, never letting go of his hand and Izuku’s a blushing mess the whole time but—
